Asset Mapping Guild

The Asset Mapping Guild strives to catalog our island’s current resources — broadly defined to include not only physical assets such as fertile land and tools, but also individual and collective skills and passions — to promote personal and community development and connections and determine how we can work toward filling in any strategic or critical gaps. This ‘mapping’ is designed to promote connections or relationships between individuals, between individuals and organizations, and between organizations.

To date, information has been gleaned through a survey prepared by graduate students from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute in conjunction with the Lopez Community Land Trust exploring local economic drivers that help us thrive and a 100 page report titled “Lopez Island 2025: Sustainable Transformation for Resilience” compiled by a group from the Monterey Institute of International Studies under the guidance of Chris and Chom Greacen.
