Tonight, 40 people gathered at the Library with the Transition Steering Committee to stand in solidarity with the the Lakota and their allies over the issue of the Dakota Access Pipeline being built across their land, threatening the Missouri River, their sole water source as well as Native burial sites and sacred places.

To honor the 100 tribes gathered in North Dakota, we listened to Doug Henderson singing “Black Serpent,” Kai Sanburn reading a moving piece from Facebook, and took multiple photos, including the picture above, to be spread on social media.
