Islands Climate Resilience, a new climate action group on San Juan Island, brought together over one hundred people from around the Islands for a community discussion about what we can do here to weather the inevitable storms of climate change. After a presentation by Nora Ferm from Cascadia Consulting on some of the changes we are likely to see , the group broke into smaller groups to brainstorm some of the adaptations that may be effective in facing these challenges. The discussion continued at a local watering hole until the inter-island ferry was ready to leave. The hope was expressed that this would be the first of many such islands-wide events. Five people from Transition Lopez Island attended.
